The history of 251 West Nine Mile is a little hazy. Prior to 1948 there seems to be some small residential buildings on that property. In late 1948 The current structure was built and opened March 18, 1949 as the Good Housekeeping Shop selling household appliances. There are a variety of interesting ads in local papers showing how appliances used at home changed our lives. A small sample is shown below.

From June 1973 until January 31, 1978 the store was "The Tool Box". Based on the ads it seems to be a precursor to Harbor Freight.

For a brief time in late 1979 the location was a restaurant specializing in diet plates called "O'Del's Inch Off Cafe".

Deans Chiropractic provided relief at this location in the 1980s on up to the late 1990s. We have yet to find specific dates for their business at this location.

Flip Salon opened their doors on April 20, 2005 and thrives in this historic location today!
